Adunis

Adonis ou Adunis
(`Alî Ahmad Sa`îd, dit) (né en 1930) poète libanais d'origine syrienne. Animateur à Beyrouth de la revue Chir (1957) et fondateur en 1968 de la revue Mawaqif (Situations), il rénova la poésie arabe dans une tonalité métaphysique et lyrique: les Chants de Mihyar le Damascène (1961), Célébrations (1988). Ses essais (Introduction à la poétique arabe, 1984; la Prière et l'épée, 1993) éclairent le présent par l'étude de la tradition arabe.
